Day 1 - Westlands Way Community
The first night of the Oxted Adventure -
the community of Westlands Way turned their roundabout into the M25,
mulled wine was served from Clacket Lane service station.
JOURNEYS FROM OXTED
“Nestled at the foot of the M25
Cars with cargo packaged high
Shimmering parcels, red and gold
Anticipating memories to unfold
Some travel near, some travel far
Some by train, some by car
Some to meet their new born kin
Their first Christmas; melting hearts with
Some will laugh and some will cry
Reflecting on the times gone by
Some will go, not to return
Others, for their home will yearn
Some share memories with life long friends
Others begin new Christmas trends
Some gather family all around
Where traditions, old and new are found
But all who journey this time of year
To visit those that they hold dear
Have hearts and homes all filled with love
Watched over from the stars above.”

Day 2 - Johnsdale's Trees Around the World
The community at Johnsdale wonderfully came together on Day 2 to show us Christmas all around the world. There were cleverly decorated national trees, also with a quiz to complete. We were wonderfully serenaded with music and a choir too. Perhaps those who couldn't make it, but have eagle eyes, can complete the quiz from the photos?
Day 3 - Greenacres
Thank you to the Courtman family & friends who gave us a thought provoking reminder of the animals that served in WW1. They also gave us the chance to write messages of thanks. Hercules, who today lives near Westerham, is 21 times down the line from a breeding stallion called Tandridge Coming King. His two sons were were requisitioned and travelled to France. They left Oxted by train from where the Shell Garage is today.

Day 4 - URC & Oxted Pre-school
The URC & Oxted Pre-school welcomed those on their travels young and old. There were lovely activities for the young adventurers to take part in as well as welcome refreshments for the adults with them. Claire writes... "The United Reformed Church and Oxted Pre-school would like to thank everyone who joined us at the 4th Oxted Adventure. The theme was Follow the Star. The children had a great time sprinkling glitter on stars for their trees and decorating star biscuits, whilst the adults enjoyed some mince pies and mulled wine. MERRY CHRISTMAS!"

Day 7 - Follow the Star to Central Way
On a chilly December evening we were warmed by a 'follow the star' quiz to help us on our advent journey. Can you answer the questions and jump forwards towards the star marking the Saviour's birth? It was a lovely evening helping us continue in good spirits on our journey towards Christmas.
