Day 8 - H is for... Holly
Thanks to the URC and Oxted Pre-School for a lovely mix of holly-based treats.
From make your own biscuits, the chocolate fountain, an ‘H’ Quiz - to making and colouring holy leaves.
(Also, there was a reminder that the URC will be hosting the wonderful ‘Christmas Tree Festival’ later this month
where contributors make great use of imagination to make or decorate trees for charity.)

Day 9 - I is for... Inn
The Crown Inn marked our first trip into Old Oxted.
Following the candle-lit route into the Inn, there was a display with a variety of 'I' linked objects waiting to be discovered.
How many can you find in the pictures? Thanks to the Crown for their welcome.
There was just enough 'room in the Inn' to chat and enjoy mulled wine and festive food.

Day 10 - J is for... Jamboree!
Many thanks to the 1st Oxted Scouts who entertained us with a typical ‘Jamboree in the woods’.
With an open fire to make our own popcorn, log slices to draw and paint as tree decorations,
candles and mini-marshmallow-toasters; we had a lovely welcome with much to do.
They even provided a light drizzle for that full-on, UK-camping experience!
Only the 1st Oxted Scouts can keep the fire going in rain.
A jamboree (boisterous, joyful meeting) to celebrate Advent.

Day 11 - K is for... Kings
So - how many kings do you know?
With over 60 kings displayed on pictures and played over the stereo to spot -
who will be the Church Road Quiz Master?
There are quite a few to find amongst these pictures; but Advent is a special time.
Advent is when we look forward to the arrival of the... King of Kings.

Day 13 - M is for... Mulled wine, Mince Pies and Music!
Sleigh bells were trumped by Ukuleles, as Advent-urers were wonderfully entertained during the second foray into Old Oxted. There were all the favourite Christmas songs, plus some other classic family favourites such as ‘The Bear Necessities’ and ‘Bring me Sunshine’.
The finale, of course, had to be Slade’s (M is for… ) “Merry Christmas Everybody”!
(There are a few excerpts to enjoy on the OA Video page of the website.)

Day 14 - N is for... North Star
Advent-urers followed the bright light to the Halos Clinic, where we contemplated the bright star leading to Jesus’ birthplace,
as well as others in the constellations. The night sky was projected onto the celling.
Visitors could learn about the various scientific theories for that bright star 2000 years ago;
they could try to spot the North Star; name the constellations; and decorate cookies.
Can you find the North star in the pictures?
