Day 21 - U is for... 'Unto us a child is born"
There was a big question waiting for us at today’s garage.
‘Unto us a child is born’ (Isaiah 9:6). But who really was that child?
Advent-urers were asked that question and could select a tag from a large array of labels
that various people and groups have given Jesus throughout history.
(It was really interesting to see which tags were discarded and which proved controversial.)
Refreshments, chairs and music were provided to help us consider the answer.
Free books as well as... leaflets for the alpha course, were available to take away – for those who wanted to consider the idea further.
(If you would like to join the January alpha group – where such questions are raised and considered - please contact Phil Brooks - [email protected] or Andrew Rumsey, the Rector at St. Mary’s, Oxted.
The Cromarite family have some additional free copies of ‘The Reason for God’ and ‘The Case for Christ’
if anyone is interested and was unable to attend tonight.)

Day 22 - V is for... V-Festival
Oxted rocked to the headline act - ‘Skylines and the Rocket’ - for the brilliant mini V-Fest.
For one hour only there was the full experience of great music, dancing, a mini mosh-pit, drizzle, refreshments and a great singalong.
All this without the inconvenience of chemical loos, mud-shod feet and a 4hr wait to leave the carpark towed by a tractor!
Of course, V in this case could stand for the Virgin Mary – who sang her own beautiful song in praise of God’s grace and gift to her and the world.
