Day 1 - A is for 'alpha' in our alphabet adventure.
It was a lovely evening, with St. Mary's tower transformed into a typical Christmas family scene.
Presents opened, wine drunk, turkey settling and a carpet made from discarded wrappers and wrapping.
But, isn't it more than this?
Well, imagine you had God's personal attention - what would you ask Him?

Thanks to all those who posted a question into the box.
We have listed some of them for you below, if you would like to imagine the response.
(The Alpha course is all about asking questions and finding out a little more about what people think.
If you would like to join in January, please contact Phil for more information.
It is a great way to enjoy a meal together, ask some questions and discuss ideas.
We would love to have you join us for a few evenings in the New Year.)

Day 2 - B is for Bethlehem...
Thank you for the beautiful singing and music in Ellice Road. Angels and kings sang beautifully to the gathered crowd.
Hot chocolate, mulled wine, mince pies in hand, we were treated to a lovely performance.

Day 3 - C is for... carol singers, candles, candy cane, camels, crosses and celebration!
There was some amazing artwork on display for the gathered crowds at St. Mary's School.
The carol singers looked fantastic in their little wooly hats!
I wonder who will win the free-draw hamper?
Have you still got your ticket?

Day 4 - D is for 'Disco'...
Thanks to Wheeler's of vinyl, who provided a cheery Christmas Disco for the 4th Day of Advent.
Pictures below: but if you would like to hear the songs, -
you could always head over to Alex's Saturday morning slot on Ridge Radio.

Day 5 - E is for... Europe
In Continental Europe, instead of stockings, the children leave out their shoes to be filled either with sweets or sticks!
Chichele Rd had a very original, inclusive idea by combining both!
Saint Nicholas is thought to be the inspiration behind Santa Claus and his feast day is celebrated on 6th December.

Day 6 - F is for... Fatherhood
The Field family acted out a dramatic hospital scene, where Mary and Joseph were getting ready for the new arrival in an NHS bed!
“It’s a boy!” came the excited shout at 6:50pm.
Earlier, in between Mary’s contractions; Joseph was taken aside by the doctor to discuss fatherhood
and have the difficult conversation about who was the real father.
(You can view the outcome on the OA video player page.)
Congratulations Mary and Joseph - a beautiful boy.

Day 7 - G is for... Gold Gift Tags
We followed the advent path to a new venue at Johnsdale; which had a mini trail all of its own.
Lasers, spotlights, ribbons and baubles pointed the way.
Each group of parcels along the path had a golden gift-tag with a quiz question about Christmas to answer.
How many can you get right in the photos below?
