Every ribbon tied represented a member of the club who has embarked on their own journey related to fitness, in any area. People were invited to share their journeys to recovery or through challenge; and also their hopes for the future, They were invited to write their thoughts down and hang them upon the branches for Advent. Thank you OLRC.

Day 21 - Church Lane Quiz
The Advent journey at Church Lane gave a taste of a far wider experience around the world. With a quiz to complete about famous locations, helped by silhouette hints; travelers then had to try to work out which Christmas Tree decoration came from that location. It's a reminder of how people celebrate Christmas all around the world and may help us to remember that we are all under the same sky.
Hazel writes... "Since 2001 we have tried to buy Christmas tree decorations from each country we have visited. So each advent when we put up our tree it reminds us of all the people and places we have visited around the world and how they might be celebrating Christmas.
The photos were of the decorations on our actual tree."
On walking back I took a picture of the moon through the trees as it 'walked with me'. Perhaps it is obvious to say that the moon tonight is the same moon that people all around the world see at different times. However, we may sometimes forget that it is the same moon that Jesus saw all those years ago, as did (and do) the travelers and His followers. Why not have a go at the quiz using the pictures in the gallery? Happy following.

Day 22 - A Gospel Christmas!
What a lovely sprint through a journey of Gospel singing! In just about an hour, the Oxted Advent-ure Day 22 scratch choir were ready to perform for the adventurers. The 50 strong group quickly picked up the harmonies thanks to the Soul Sanctuary Gospel choir leaders. A truly joyful expression of Christmas celebration and praise.

Day 23 - R is for... Rejoice
Tonight’s Oxted Adventure took us high in the sky. We could imagine what it’s like to look down on Oxted, journeying home, from an aeroplane.
So timely Julia Court.

Day 24 - St. Mary's
Adventurers visited St. Mary's on Christmas Eve. The church was beautifully lit from inside and travelers passed by the newly renovated stained glass window of the Virgin Mary, Jesus and wise men. Here are some images from all around the church, finally stopping at the South door where scripture shone from inside, bathing all the travelers in the light of The Word. Thank you Rebecca, Andrew and all of the Oxted Adventure hosts who again helped us to reflect in so many different and original ways on what Advent means to us. Thank you all for a wonderful journey.
